National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Test

So What is NIFT Exam ?
National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance exam is an exam which is conducted by NIFT institute of India.NIFT exam is conducted every year for admission of the students into the various fashion designing courses. (Both UG and PG)

Master of Fashion Management - 2 years 
Master of Fashion Technology - 2 years 
National Institute of Fashion Technology has Centre’s at Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Jodhpur, Kangra, Kannur, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Patna, Raebareli, and Shillong. 
By Passing this exam you can  get into Top Fashion college in india  . 

NIFT Eligibility Criteria 

Bachelor Programmes: 
Maximum Age - 23 years, the upper age limit will be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of SC/ST/PHP subject to following qualifications

Eligibility for B.Des (Fashion Design/Leather Design/Accessory Design/Textile Design / Knitwear Design/Fashion Communication): 
Candidates should have passed the 10+2 level exam in the 10+2 pattern from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education / State Board New Delhi, Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi
Or
General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced level/ International Baccalaureate (IB)
Or
 Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in Foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system
Or
 A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Exam conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects
Or
 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education 

Eligibility for Bachelor of Fashion Technology (Apparel Production) (B.FTech): 
The 10+2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of exam of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Exam such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi with Physics, Chemistry and Maths
Or
General Certificate Education (GCE) Exam (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics, Chemistry and Maths
Or
 Any Public School/Board/University exam India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry and Maths
Or
 A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Exam conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects with Physics, Chemistry and Maths
Or
 3 or 4 years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education (Engineering background)

Eligibility for Master Programmes - Design 
Age: No age limit

Eligibility for M.Des (Master of Design):
Undergraduate degree from any institute/university recognized by law in India
Or
Diploma in UG Design from NIFT/NID only. 

Eligibility for MFM (Master of Fashion Management):
 Undergraduate degree from any institute/university recognized by law in India
Or
 Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT/NID 

Eligibility for Master of Fashion Technology:
 B.F.Tech from NIFT; or B.E./B.Tech from any institute/university recognized by law in India 

Reservation of the Seats 
The seats reserved for SC/ST/Differently Abled Candidates (PHP)/Foreign Nationals/SAARC/ NRI, in each programme are as under: 
SC - 15% 
ST - 7.5% 
OBC (Non-Creamy) - 27% 
PHP (with 40% or more disability) - 3% 
Foreign nationals/SAARC/NRI - 15% 
State Domicile - 20% 
Category once filled up in the application form will not be changed at any stage.

·        Quantitative ability:
  Questions on Addition, multiplication, division, fractions, percentage, rate of interest, work and time, speed and distance, ratio and proportion etc.

·          Communication ability and English comprehension:
                   It includes questions on synonyms, antonyms, word substitutions, sentence completion, jumbled paragraphs, comprehension passages, etc.

·          Analytical ability:
             It includes questions based on seating arrangements, blood relations, coding and decoding, syllogisms, etc.

·          General Knowledge and current affairs:
           It includes questions from current affairs and General awareness around the world.

·          Situation test:
         Short listed candidate for B.Des from the written examination take up this exam which is a hands on test to evaluate candidates ability of material handling and innovative skills of the candidate.


 Exam Pattern
      Exam mode: 
      Offline mode (using pen and paper)
      The exam is divided into the following two parts:
 ·        General Ability Test (GAT)
 ·        Creative Ability Test (CAT)
      The applicant will also have to pass Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview             (PI).
      Exam duration for GAT:
       2 hours
     Total number of questions asked in GAT: 
1    50
      Language used in question paper:
     English
     There is no negative marking for wrong answers
     Paper Pattern GENERAL ABILITY TEST (GAT)

·         For Bachelor of Design (B.Des) - Duration: 120 minutes

     1) Quantitative Ability - 25 Qs
     2) Communication Ability - 35 Qs
     3) English Comprehension - 30 Qs  
     4) Analytical Ability - 30 Qs 
     5) General Knowledge and Current Affairs - 30 Qs
      Total - 150 Qs

·         For Master of Design (M.Des) - Duration: 120 minutes
1) Quantitative Ability - 25 Qs
2) Communication Ability - 35 Qs
3) English Comprehension - 30 Qs
4) Analytical Ability - 30 Qs
5) General Knowledge and Current Affairs - 30 Qs
Total - 150 Qs 


Creative Ability Test (CAT): 

·         For Bachelor of Technology (B.F.Tech) - Duration: 180 minutes
1) Quantitative Ability - 30 Qs
2) Communication Ability and English Comprehension - 45 Qs
3) Analytical and Logical Ability - 25 Qs
4) General Knowledge and Current Affairs - 25 Qs
5) Case Study - 25 Qs
Total - 150 Qs

·         For Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech) - Duration: 180 minutes
1) Quantitative Ability - 30 Qs
2) Communication Ability and English Comprehension - 45 Qs
3) Analytical and Logical Ability - 25 Qs
4) General Knowledge and Current Affairs - 25 Qs
5) Case Study - 25 Qs

·         For Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M) - Duration: 180 minutes
1) Quantitative Ability - 10 Qs
2) Communication Ability and English Comprehension - 50 Qs
3) Analytical and Logical Ability - 25 Qs
4) General Knowledge and Current Affairs - 25 Qs
5) Case Study - 40 Qs
