Facebook Introduces Internet.org :Innovation Challenge (Award of $250,000 USD)

Internet.org was launched in 2013 by Mark Zuckerberg, CEO Facebook partnering with various other companies. Nokia, Samsung, Ericsson, Opera, Qualcomm and Mediatek with the aim to provide internet cheaper to next 5 billion users.

Latest update to this initiative is that Mark Zuckerberg has successfully launched free internet application in Columbia, Columbia is the first nation in Latin America and fourth in the world to receive this free internet service.
Recently Mark Zuckerberg met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the Digital India campaign, and quite likely, how it is a natural fit for the Facebook-backed Internet.org initiative. Digital India is about making the internet available to the masses, while Internet.org is about giving free internet to the masses.
Now, Internet.org Innovation Challenge in India aims to recognize those who are working to make the internet more relevant to women, students, farmers and migrant workers in India and support them. The challenge is about encouraging development of apps, websites and online services that provide real value for the members of these important communities.
PRIZES:-
The Prize amount for this challenge is $250,000 USD for the app, website or Online service that would be chosen by judges, which meets the needs of one of the four designated population categories: women, students, farmers and migrant workers (four awards total).
Winners of each award will also be eligible to receive a package of tools and services worth up to $60,000 USD from Facebook’s FbStart program.
DEADLINES:-
All entries must be submitted before 31st Jan, 2014.
Winners will be announced at Mobile world Congress on March 2015.

CRITERIA OF JUDGEMENT:-
Your app or website should be Innovative and original. It should impact lives of numerous people in a meaningful way. And on the basis of its scalability and its current situation about the prototype and if it is launched how much consistent it is.
